Hello kawans2 and fellow caster.... Will there be any up coming event, update of any ideas....

Rumors have been going around that there will be one organize by the Malaysian surfcasters somewhere around May or June. Not sure how definite. And we might even see one held right here with prizes sponsor by Shimano (S). It seems that you have been practicing quite regularly. How do you find Horizon Special on low reel?

To be very honest with you, i like the rod very much especially casting it low reel. And yes i've been practicing with couple of friends (all novice) recording every cast and spotting our own mistakes...

I also own other 3pc-Jap rod namely daiwa etc etc but this rod in particular is my only 3pc-rod built to low reel specs. As for the distance achieved, well..... there is no secret bro as i've mentioned we're all novice.

The draw back i personally found about this rod (maybe just mine) is the backbone (spine) that is not exactly at the align marking which is printed on the rod between the tip,mid and butt section; also the blank is groovey which makes it look low quality built; including the colour (very bright its personal).

Overall... it's value for money

Glad to know you like the rod. It's a lot user friendly compare to the SC XXX yet the tip still recovers fast. As for the backbone, i'm sure you can find the best side to suit your requirement. Yellow...some may like it and some don't.

Salam Edros,

Don't think we will have a BIG Tourney so soon. Did pose this subject in MFN, response was not firm yet coz of PeMM AGM in March. We have to wait the come who or which group will become the Office Bearer for the next 2 years I think.

Anyway will keep you all posted if there any new development on this.

Yup agree with you cos it's been a long time that we have not cast together...

Don't need to have a grand comp just make it a forthnightly activity to group together as a team with a common goal.....

Hi Bro Onn,

Guess we will just have to wait for what comes along. Thanks for the update. We might plan a mini comp for ourselves. Just like what we used to have when all members are still active. It's fishing season for many of the surf fishoes here.

Like Birdnest said, it's been a while since we cast together. Last time was really fun...even casting in the rain!

Edros, not sure if anyone has started yet. The field probably needs to be measured again and we also need a new starting marker. The group of mini-airplane flyers has also increased. Fishing wise, I've not been fishing as regularly, mainly coz its very windy and cold at night. hehe excuses.

To keep us busy and as you know, we have Small Tourney (Handicap) 2 month once starting 2007, that is in month of Jan, March, May,July, (September rest time for Puasa) and November.

On top of this, we also have the Masters Challenge 0/0 (7 casts) 4 month once. For 100g in April, 125g in August and 150g in December. At present most of us concentrating on 100g. Should you want to join our Masters come la, the more the merrier it will be.

You guys seem to be more active than us Sillyporean. I would love to join but can't afford the time to travel all the way up to KL. Not to mention the cost involved. Unless the event is held in JB...hahahaha. Till then, whack hard and regards to the rest of the casters.

Helo Guys,

Me just come back from Kuantan and yesterday have some discussion on the Distance Casting Big Tourney for 2007. Me and organizer have identified a few vacant land in Kuantan with overall distance well exceed 250m.

The outcome is positive and most probably we will have the tourney in Kuantan somewhere in June, category will be in 125g and 150g (one day event) and proposed by the organizer that, on the 2nd day they want to organize a Match Fishing for all the Participants.

Also got a few green light from Malaysian Tackle supplier for sponsorship on the prizes.

Anyway I will keep you all posted on the details from time to time.
