Hi guys, I read that the sponsor/organisers want at least half of the total casters (50 min for the sponsorship) be Singaporeans. Can we get the number?

    regards

I thought they are expecting at least 20 pax from Singapore?

In fact, we do have more than a bunch of surfcasters (enough to make up a battalion). Unless PeMM can come up with better prizes, i doubt the rest of the casters are willing to travel all the way to KL just for the sake of some medals.

    Sad but true.

    Guys,

Please refer to the latest update above on the venue held. Good news is that Shimano might be sponsoring some of the prizes for this event.

Who knows...maybe a Shimano Spin Power or Stella 20K or Ocea Jigger 4000P.

    Regards

Roughly quoting from someone, "Think of the prize only IF you can get the distance." The statement says it all.

Maybe I'm enthusiastic coz I'm still a noob. Then again it is unfair if you pay good money for the trip and fees and get nothing.

    Regards

ps: Any souvenirs, etc....given for participation?

    Bro,

I know who said that....words of wisdom & advice from the master himself.

Do it coz we love this sport, then there should not be a problem.

And yes, we're going to spend quite a bit for the transportation & entrance fees but i'm sure it's still affordable to everyone. Unless you're still in school..hehehe.

    Cheers

A good reminder from pptaji. Grab your old soccer boots along. This helps when the field turns muddy you won't be able to get a good footing.

One last thing, i will be collecting the prizes courtesy of Mr Daniel Wee from Shimano Pte Ltd consisting of Spinpower surf rods, Ocea Jigger, Blue Rose, Torsa...

Hahahaha...just kidding. It's actually a few new rods from the spinpower series plus some others goodies.

Good luck and whack hard casters.

    Cheers

    Hi All,

After a grueling one and half day of casting under the hot sun, finally we are back at home. There have been numerous SMS from friends and ex-fellow casters asking for the results. I’m stealing some of my work time now to run a brief report of the results. Links to MFN will be put up later once they have competition results posted.

On the 125gm category, also the furthest distance for this tournament is still held by the defending champion Mr. Edy (Malaysia) with 215m. Second is by TTR man with 213m and third by Hamid with 207m.

PPTaji is fourth on the 125gm but is still the defending champion for the 100gm category.

At 200.4m, I managed to get 5th on the 125gm and 4th on the 100gm.

On the 150gm, TTR man is first follow by Edy in 2nd place and crackoff in third.

The best new comer for this competition will definitely goes to crackoff. He has an outstanding performance even though this was his first comp. He brought home a couple of medals on the off the ground category. Well done dude. Train harder and will have a chance to be the top 3 next year.

Congratulation to all the winners and once again on the behalf of the Singapore Team, we wish to thank the organizer PeMM, Rod & Line magazine and Shimano Singapore Pte Ltd for their kind sponsorship on the prizes. Last but not least, to our Malaysian friends for making our stay an enjoyable and memorable one.

We will be back again next year. Till then take care and it’s time to take a break and enjoy fishing. As the saying goes…papa..papa..papa jahat…hahahaha.

    Regards
    physlo

Edros thanks for the kind words. You forgot about Nasser's and your near perfect centre line cast, which landed you both medals. Probably beginner's luck that I got some wins lah, but good outing nonetheless. Gotta thank Azlan for his XTR and TTRman for not getting that rod (also for those nicely timed advice). Shiny new rods for TTRman and our oldie but goodie, Encik Hamid, who almost won the whole competition if he casted a bit straighter. hehehe

Great trip all round, with great company (especially folks in the Trajet, Rosak! semua) and our host Zamri and family, best host anyone can expect, and the rest of our Malaysian counterpart.

As I apply lotion to my sunburn, I wanna congratulate all winners for a job well done and participants for enduring the long journey there. I especially want to say a big thank you to Nasser for contributing the contraband and Man Koboi for spreading the ajaran sesat to everyone, and oh yeah, that kid with the reducer who owes you a frappucino.

    Good job guys!

ps: Got the pic from MFN, save to your pc to zoom for better viewing.

Wah, well done to all the bros..... to those who won medals / prizes... congrats. To those who didn't win anything, I say "keep trying. Don't even think of quitting or get disheartened. The idea is to improve your PB - winning a medal is a bonus".

Wah, TTRman.... I've seen your rod and met you and your team.... wah... now I can say "Aku kenal caster tau, jangan main-main dengan aku !!"

    Once again, Well done !!

    Guys,

Thanks for all the compliments. The nine of us are proud to represent Singapore for this competition even though we have to finance on our own.

On Friday morning, we left Singapore with a common objective…..not just to bring the championship back but also to win some medals based on individual effort. In the end, it does not matter who wins or who lose, who gets and who don’t. I do hope this would not diminish the spirits of the casters especially the younger ones. At the end of the competition, we all had fun, enjoy ourselves and hoping to look forward to the next one.

There have been rumors of having our own competition next year but this is all in the planning stages. We will update as and when we have confirmation.

As for now, we will be taking a break and enjoy our fishing.

    Regards
    physlo
