Don't tell me this is the much awaited Shimano Aspire? Any idea when will they be available at our local shops?

Aspire... Nope!!......these are in fact specially developed for targeting big fish in local waters where our fish tend to fight harder.....

It's good news indeed, knowing that Shimano is producing rod for local needs. From the picture, I assumed it's a 2 pc rod of equal length and it is either 12 or 13 foot long. This certainly eases the burden for those who take public transport. Hopefully the prices remain justifiable.

Right now, I believe many surf fishoes would appreciate if they have a reel to pair with. A solid multiplier in between the size of a Calcutta 400S and 700S comes with the floating spool design would fit perfectly.

Yupe, more new rod coming,,,, it's seems the sale of fishing tackle is much more agressive than fishing itself....

Agree with u,its like new handphone models popping out evry few mths
in a year,
but with price range nearly to 4 digits....it'll burn the pockets!

To all surf fishoes,
The much awaited Shimano Horizon Surf B 425AX is in town. From the model 'AX', it should be a much suitable rod for surf fishing compare to the Horizon Special which was designed for sports casting. Personally hope to get one for myself to catch on surf fishing after such a long break.

Mike, get one bro and we can start hunting for prata.

Frens told me , there is new rod from Shimano that bears the Horizon name. (not the banana rod, of course) on display at Gina... Is it a Shimano Horizon Surf B 425AX ? Been wanting to confirm this news... Anyone in East can look see look see.. Price was told 340 before discount, by Sam.

But they say, the colour is orange , with adjustable reel set ...

Anyone that has bought one, can post a review ?

Yup its true. the one hanging at gina's is the new horizon surf. Retailing at $303. Was there yesterday and manage to ask gina. Made in Indonesia

Made in Indonesia is one of the reasons we can get these rods much cheaper than those from Japan. Jigwrex was also made in Indonesia.

Now i can get one and join you guys for pari hunting...missed those good old days at Sekudu.

The Orange new surf pole is Shimano Surf Game. A bit softer as compared to HSC, but it's good enough to handle most of the surf fishing in SG/M'sia.
