My first surf fishing session after a 8yr break

Well I've been planning this for ages... to have the highest tide just before sunset and during the weekend is something that doesn't come often While waiting for this perfect day to come along, I bought myself a Shimano Surf Leader FV and matched it to my Daiwa Tournament ISO 4000P

Well the day finally came yesterday afternoon. BUT instead of getting a 6hr fishing session, which should have started at 2pm, my buddies and I ended up waiting for fresh stock of worms to arrive at the tackle shop. To make things worst, it started raining when we got the fishing spot We finally got to wet a line at around 5pm.

I must say surf fishing wasn't as boring as I thought I was kept busy with regular bites/hook ups from small fishes. Think I'll be fishing the surf on a regular basis in the near future

Tackle Used-
Shimano Surf Leader FV 405 CX-T
Daiwa Tournament ISO 4000P
YGK Jigman X4 PE2
Sufix Tritanium 40lb shock leader (wind-on)
Mustad Demon Circle Light 1/O

Bait Used-
Worms
Tamban
Prawn meat

By the way, I still hate the stench of bait on my fingers.... after all this time :P Must remember to bring hand cleansers/pail for scooping sea water next time.

In fact, actually u can prepare a bottle of fresh water, a small container. & a piece of rag. After hooking on the bait, have a wash of the hand, dry it before casting out. It is for our safety too. Just my thoughts.

Cheers.

Stickbom, you go for surf after 7 years itchy ya :P :P ...
Ya, actually surf casting very "syok" also. You know I got my Penn 525mag intend to go for surf casting at beach about 4 years back. Until now I still can't make a cast on that. Why, cause I can't even cast well on my 7' ft rod.

Edros- Dun like that lar... that day all Ah Pek and small kids mah... next time when you there I dun dare bring out surf outfit liao But I must say surf fishing is pretty laid back and relaxing... most importantly it won't break your bank account.

Octo- Bro, think spinning is much much easier lar... no need to "fry beehoon" Hope we can drown bait by the sea together one day

Ophio- Beach Club not as crowded as you think bro. Can join us one of these days.

I'll be waiting the day for us to fly out the bait out there...

Me thinks it's best to keep things simple. A happy and relaxing day at the beach can get pretty frustrating with birds nest :P
