Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Long distance sportscasting Hi, Long distance sportscasting was picked up by Singaporeans as early as in the mid 80's. Back then, most of these guys have to make do with thick and stiff rods which mostly came from the UK. With advanced technology in place, the Japanese have come up with rods which are thinner and of parabolic action to suit asians. Tremendous improvement in distance have been achieved during the recent competitions organised by our Malaysian counterpart even though we are still lacking behind the ang mohs. Nowadays, Singapore top casters are getting 200m plus on average whereas the beginner should not have any problems hitting 180m. Here are the pictures from some of Singapore casters in action courtesy of Azman. Cheers! physlo |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Edros, Nice pics :P Wa quite sometime never go to this forum la. Suddenly see you become Moderator. Congrat. You have my support. I have tons of castings pics and videos. Let me know if I can insert it here and we can start new distant surf kaki recruitment after they start to drool at the videos performing the pendulum. Cheers Azman P.S. 3pc rod almost at the point of breakage |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Ozzy, It would be great to have more pictures of rod compression. And would be even better to have you helping out as a moderator to make the surf section active From the pictures above, i can see the difference during the finishing stage. I believe a couple of meters more can be added easily if i finish off the cast around 12 o clock. Let's try it out on the next dry cast. Till then take care and hope to see more pictures. Thanks! Cheers! physlo |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Physlo, That is looking good for you. Your next target will 220m cos there are currently more than 5 casters doing the 2 century mark consistently and few more approaching it. There are 1's or 2's already surpassing the 210 marks almost reaching the 220 marks. Given the time, good equipment, good technique plus total dedication and commitment to regular training, the 220 barrier will be broken sooner than later. I for once can't afford to slack down anymore else will be left far behind. Those guys are training like bulls. No stopping them. Personal Best is one thing but the actual distant on the actual competition that matters. Hope the weather is kind to us this weekend and if the field has dry up then we can blast again. Make yourself free OK, I've got new toyr for you to try. He he Cheers |
