Bait Clips

Guys, how do you prevent your bait clips from sliding up n down the leader? Many years ago I used some special beads which could be fastened to your leader (with a small piece of coiled steel) not sure if anyone remembers this product but I got mine from Deepsea when they were still in Changi. Can't find this bead anymore so could someone kindly tell me how to secure my bait clip? I'm considering using super glue

Re: Bait Clips

yo bro, to secure the baitclips use a bead on top of it afterwhich, tie a mono with a tiny knot on topof the bead.then apply some locktite.many years ago, i came across an article in seaangler that claims that superglue weakens mono.(even though i have not seen evidence of this)as such most of me and my fren uses locktite to secure.

Re: Bait Clips

Yeah, maybe many years ago they did not have good lines by companies like Yamamoto, Gosen, YGK, Sunline, Momoi, Sufix and Varivas Anyway please show me how you do that knot tomorrow... otherwise I might end up ordering those stupid beads from UK

Oh the "beads" I am talking about are called Coil Crimps

Re: Bait Clips

A stop knot with 20lb mono or you can use a crimp. If however they are impact shields bait clip use a bead below the crimp.

Powergum if availaible is a very good line to make stop knots.

Failing all the above you can use telephone wires into coils!

Stop Knot
