Sit-Rep-Changi Coastal Fishing 6/02/10 (4pm to 9pm)

Winds seem to have died down a little and I was able to get decent casting distance with short snood apollo rigs. Small Mustad circle hooks/fresh squid from Gary's shop plus a little luck got me a total of 6 cat fishes (Duri), 3 sharks and a KURAU... yes folks... lost my very first KURAU when it threw the hook as I was trying to figure out how to lift it out of the water. It was definitely about the 2kg mark because I couldn't lift it out of the water and peeled line from my reel on several occasions (I usually button down my drags and winch the fish back but this fellow was pretty strong!). As the saying goes, you win some... you lose some... but I guess that's what keeps us going back for more! At least I now know for sure there's another type of fish worth waiting for!

hi bro it seem like u love fishing for big ray..which is good thing for u as i got a good spot in changi that have caught big ray in that spot and need to cast far to hit the bite zone if u want to try that plc let me know we can meet up and btw the bait there it need very fresh taman fish....record abt 15kgs of north ray and brown ray....and u got to secure your rod as i seen ppl rod flow off from their rod stand...heheh
