    Small cr

Went to the rabbit hole again on the marathon day ,was told by my friend that the marathon will end only at 3 p.m ,after some thoughts ..decided not to buy any baits .So just brought a few packet of jigs and some size 1 sinker and head down .It was around 4 when i reach the place and tide was really quite low liao ,and to my surprise there a few guys there already ..infact they were there around 11+ a.m ,they told me that the marathon end at 11 a.m ...geeze ...Not to waste time ,set up the tackles and start jigging .First was some small kunnings ,then the bigger selars come and only one is landed cause the bigger ones torn my jigs .And it was of total of 3 sets of jigs they destroyed ..6 bucks down the sea ..haha .

After a hr of jigging ,decided to do some live bait fishing using kunning after seeing some biggy hiting on the tamban schools .So hook on a live kunning and throw it into the sea ..but kanna some knots on the main line ,so the untying process kept me busy ..But when the knot is untied ,turn around the sausage float is gone .While there is no stripping of lines or bending of the rod ,i thought it might be snag at the sea glass below ..so i wind back the lines slowly to check inorder not to kill the kunning .As I was winding back i could feel something at the end of the line ..thought that it could be the kunning ,so didnt bother much .Then after some winding ,a grouper was at the end of the line ,with the kunning still stuck in its mouth ..and before i can set hook ,it sped out the kunning ..Wa lao ..

Sure thing Bro Hey does squid bait work for you at our local shores Most other baits tend to fall off the hook during casting and I think squid is probably the TOUGHEST bait around Not sure if it's effective though :P

Yup ,squids are good baits as long they are fresh ( those that have not touch freshwater after caught ) Dont use cow strength to cast " soft "baits they shouldnt fly off leh ,especially prawns .But usually freshly caught baits stays on the hook better .

Actually ,the toughest baits are cuttle fish ! They can really last ,u can cast wind back ,cast and cast again but bite rates are uber low ...

Edy, 20lb nylon very thick... hard to cast far and need bigger sinker to hold ground. Change to braid better.

Will keep you updated, we might be going next weekend. Can make mini bbq also But must go early to "chop" the shelter though.

I find it is quite thin ... initially i wanted to load with braid but i dont see the point since i will only use this reel to "play play" once in a blue moon.

    Hi guys,

do let me know if there's any surfcast fishing, I do have a light SC outfit,
but seldom use due to no kaki. Will be great if can have a group shore fishing.
OMG, when can I hook a fish capable of stripping my line?????
