SEA SAURUS REVIVAL TOUR (Ujung Kulon-EXP1/05)

Okay, this isn't much of a catch report yet but I thought some of you guys might be interested to know what junk I'll be using for the very first offshore trip of 2005 :P . Well I've gone through quite a lot of trouble trying to secure SAURUS fishing rods after they went bust about a year back. Happy to say, I've managed to secure 04 pieces of these rods through close friends and I'll be putting them to use this weekend. Here's a map plus some photos of the lures, rods & reels I'll be using

Will try night jigging if weather holds up. Think my chances of hitting a "monster" is better at night.

Wow Stickbom, that's some arsenal you've put together for your "tour". Good luck to the tunas (yellow fin and dog tooth) and GTs there. Have a good trip.

    Cheers!
May your rods outnumber her shoes!

Thanks guys... I'm at the Airport now. Had some excess weight on my check in luggage and had to carry them jigs on my hand carry bag. What a pain in the butt! :P

Looking on the brighter side of things... the crew on flight VF202 (Valuair) looks good today! Just saw a few cuties walk by

    Hi Mark,

There's no fixed rating for that rod but I'm using jigs from 500-800g and PE10 on it. It's actually an S-Glass trolling blank :P

I'm back from my fishing trip Spent two days watching big swells, big storm clouds and enjoying the westerly "breeze" from the marina where my buddy's boat is berthed. In short, I did not get to fish @ all All is not lost though, my friend gave me some lessons on Marlin tackle, the proper use of a fighting chair, watched some video tapes on Marlin/Tuna fishing and we also discussed how to improve on the current bulky trolling rods/reels. With the new found knowledge, I'll be putting together a Marlin trolling outfit and will try it out as soon as the weather clears up over in Ujung Kulon. I'll try and post the short video clip I took over the weekend, you'll have a better idea of how "nice" the weather was over there.

    Elo Makaira,

Yeah, the boatman has prepared crabs and my friend is preparing 6 inches live sand prawns also.

    Cheers,
    Edy
