Cheng, in your esteemed opinion, what sort of jigging tackle stands up best to xtra xtra heavy duty oil rig bashing? Any particular brands/models?

I wouldn't really put it down to faulty or "inferior" equipment or bad design though. Imho, it is likely a case of a tired angler using the knob as the point of leverage ... and that part is not designed for that kind of stress. Opinions differ of course.

I can only say don't bring something below PE#8, fluro leader 130-150lb minimum, braided PE#10-15 and not less than 20kg drag, i've make a big mistake last trip using 80lbs whiplash line burst at high drag.

This trip we notice F6 rigs actually was on top of coral reef, lot's of good fishing spot.

It's in betw Miri n Bintulu, 13hrs to travel, below Luconia. Heard they plan another trip next year Feb, not sure about the exact date, we 1 2 go M1 n M3 rigs but the two boat owner never been to E11 n F6 (they insist 1 2 go there), so got some argument now.

Her bday 3 days after the weekend so visa and re-entry permit already approve lo. Since full no choice, just head to dropoff only. Have to run-in a few stuffs or else 'Pai-sui' only no point..how come ur not joining?

it sounds very good what you´re telling about the area for malaysia. There are one or two friends of me who really likes to go popping and jigging perhaps in february2011.
