edylie,
our trip was a horrific one. Wheather was bad with 20++ feet waves slamming half of the group to puke and fast.
The 2 fishes I posted, happen to be the biggest caught on Jig and Popper for the entire trip, among 20 anglers. Only 2 were caught on popper, another is a smaller GT. As for Jigs, there were some baby Baracudas.
The bigger ones cames from trolling (wahoo and dogtooth) and bottom (huge rays and sharks and the Maldives Reds).
Hi Mudgod,
Seems like the last few trips to Maldives (within last month) were bad. May i know when were you there and which atoll were you fishing at?
A friend just returned from Maldives and he mentioned about bad weather and raining throughout the trip. The biggest fish caught on his trip was a 20Kg GT.
I wish a better luck when i am there on the 11th Jan 2007.
Cheers,
Edy

edylie,
was there just 3 weeks back. Don't really know which atoll we were fishing at. I do remember our trolling spot was just beside the airport. Other than that I'm not sure.
20kg GT sounds like a mountain compare to ours :-p
Wish you all the best for your trip. The rainy season should be coming to an end in January.
Was in Merpati, Sarawak just last week. The Amberjacks there were very cooperative.
