    Hi Mark ,

Thanks , I saw a few potential spots for jigging not far from where we were popping !

    Good stuff there Jon!

.... but please, take good care of yourself please... try targetting the smaller GTs and keep those big ones for me!

    Hi Pak Jon,

Curious to know what your line-leader connection set-up is these days for poppers and swimbaits...

Do you still use Mid-Knot? And do you use a Kevlar bite leader?

    Many thanks,
    Mark

    Hi AhGu ,

The big GTs are reserved for the youngest participants ; Jeng Sopol n Gus Connor , I am happy to make up the numbers .

    Hi Mark ,

I still use MidKnot and the crews of the boat does it well but others use twisted leader . My bite leader is heavy FC crimped on both ends , splitring to the eyelet of the lure and cat paw to mono leader . I find GTs can detect leader , once the bite leader is frayed then the strike rate drops .

    Pak Jon,

How many days are needed to fish in Sumba/Komodo area?

Those GTs looks yummy for popping!

    Cheers,
    Edy

Re: KOMODO n SUMBA revisited .

    Hi Edy ,

If you fish Komodo only then 3 days is minimum but if you want to cross to Sumba , you need 5 full days . You will fly to Bali first and take the early flight to Labuan Bajo the next day n cast off in the afternoon , if you go to Sumba then you will get off the boat in Waingapu and fly back to Bali before taking the connecting flight in the evening but generally most anglers will have at least 24 hrs in Bali for relaxation which include massage , good foods , comfortable sleep and may be a short body surfing before returning home .
