i guess its the angle when the pic was taken, the 2 pics below shows a 52kg and a 64kg AJ, and i would gather we can hardly see much differences between them

    Yo DFM,

Glad you enjoyed the short vid. The Torsa seems pretty powerful, fight time was 8 min.

Seems to be big AJ season in Taiwan now. Some weeks ago a 54kg specimen was landed...have uploaded the picture of this monster in the gallery.

Narc, I read that Ah Wei's 60kg AJ landed with a HOTS Wei World 48XXH

Is the jig in the pic with the 60kg AJ a Duel?

In short, YES!!!. Between a GT and AJ of similar sizes, IMHO I reckon that the GT still has a slight edge in playing dirty and using its body profile to put more pressure on the angler. But in terms of sheer power, they are pretty even.

If there is no structure to bust off on and water under 500ft deep, with the right gear, you can get them in reasonably quickly. In fact we just caught an AJ in the 20kg range last Thursday night at a spot that was only 240ft deep, a total suprise catch at night along with a bunch of MJs and 1 ACK.

Will post a short CR after uploading the pics later.

Never caught a really big AJ but pound for pound the smaller AJs fight harder than doggies of similar size.

Definitely, the AJ is a better fighter, right from the bottom to the top.

yes they really fought with brute force.....

An 8-10kg juvenile would be fun for a PE-4 setup already.....

    Re: Huge 60kg Taiwan AJ

That angler looks like having a constipation

anyway it's mentioned that PE4 is fun for 8-10 kg juvenile, then what's the recommended setup for a 60kg range?
