Oceania Dream Comes True!!!!

Hi,

My "meng xiang yu" (dream fish) was caught during 2nd day 1st light of my CI trip 4-11/7 2009.

Method : Popping
Weapons : Patriot Design GT-Z Black Diamond 77, Dogfight6500H
Lure : Master Bomb 135g

Being my very 1st big game jigging & popping trip, there are so many 1st....
1st time to handle big guns like PD GTZ 77, Platinum 58, JM450g, DF6500H, SW20k, OJ4kP... (i swear i will never let go no matter how hard the fish take!)
1st time using the biggest jigging hook i ever seen... size 13/0 fisherman! ( pai sey, so sua ku haha...)
1st time to drop a 220g or heavier jig into the depth of 70-130M water.... (keep thinking when will it touch the bottom????)
1st time to chug a master bomb across the swell of 2-3M waves.... (cant lift my arm the next day....shagged)
1st time to pop in the dark.... (a real eye opener although it was dark haha!!!)
1st time to feel how a Mama dogtooth tuna took my jig... (so bo chap at 1st but once i set hook it just ON it turbo & run like no ending....)
1st time to land a big Bronze shark est. 80kg.... (... with both my leg trembling while fighting.... not scared but shagged!!!)
1st time to witness the "jigging machine" at work. (i just stand beside with my mouth opened wide, u guys know who he is la....salute man!!!)
1st time..... and so on so on....

I am lucky to have 2 old salt on the same boat. They had take good care of me, just like brother. Words of encouragement were exchange during onboard, be it "tooh tooh", burst line or trashed by monsters. Jokes were crack to forget about the sore arms & bodies. "Check drag, check knots connection bla bla" were constantly reminded. Although 3 of us had came from nowhere as stranger but cos of common interest, jigging & popping, we just click well! We had struggled to prepare our dinner, how we wish mum or wife had tagged along! TCSS, cock & bull stories were shared over Australian Lemonade after dinner.... Big Thank You to my CI buddies, the "jigging machine" & Mr. "the Chinese man said...."

To me, this was a successful trip.... not only fulfilled my dream of landing a YFT, but also allow me to pickup lots of tonnes of knowledge & technique from my CI buddies & skipper. Most importantly, i had moved another step forward in my fishing journey....

Yes I did bring along my own gear.
I think different charter will provide different package. But For wat i know... only trolling gear is provided, u stil need to bring ur own jig & pop gear,,,, not forgetting other accessories as well....

Both Patriot Blast edge & Sevenseas hooker jig works well....
