    CR Rompin 25-27 Aug

    *** PICTURES INTENSIVE ***

    We had lotsa funs

Great company, good fishing and nice food.

    Anglers involved:
    Joshua (Organiser cum Driver!)
    Edward (Mr Popper)
    Yong (The Big Sailfish Guy)
    Edy (The Slacker!)

We have 20 takes by the sailfish and boated 8 pieces only due to straigheted Owner circle hook, burst line and poor hook up.

We have tried to pop and managed to have 5 follows but only one solid hook up by Edward's stickbait.

The biggest sailfish was landed by Yong

Also Joshua brought his "own fad" and it works well!!!

Lets the pics do the talking!

    Cheers,
    Edy

    Mark,

That is my "use and throw" casting rod by Lemax ... the ceramic in the ring broke and I don't bother to fix it, so i just use scotch tape to wrap around it.

    Cheers,

Nice catch report, Edy. Seems you guys had a good trip, cheers! Curious, how does the Braid FAD thingie work? Does it attract the sailfish, or baitfish, which attracts the predators?

What happened is this "FAD" will spray water into the sea and it creates ripples on the sea surface ...

Like mimicking a bunch of baitfish playing on the surface.

    Cheers,
    Edy

Thanks for the info Edy. I've heard from a friend that fishermen in the Maldives sprays water onto the sea to mimic bait fish to attract skip jacks and bonitos. U think it'll work in our waters? Well not for large fish but schools of queens, chemins and other small predators maybe?
