    6 Amigos in Tianyar, Bali!

Here’s my version of the story for my weekend jigging session @ Tianyar, Bali.

    Anglers-
    1. Mark “I’d pay 5000 Rupiah if you can pluck coconut for me” Teo
    2. Honmeng “The Stripper”
    3. Eugene “Easy Rider” Goh
    4. Jim “500=trauma” Uyeno
    5. Mike “Shut up and Jerk!” Tan
    6. Roni “wanna hear some ghost stories?” Hermanto

    Dates- 27/05-30/05

    Fish landed
    1. 10kg GT
    2. 10kg Grouper
    3. 1 kg Dogtooth
    4. 0.5kg Barracuda
    5. 3kg Ruby Snapper
    6. 2kg Ruby Snapper
    7. Ikan Bali (Leader Break)
    8. Ikan Bali (Thrown Hook)

    Successful jigs
    1. Jig Ace 520g (Available @ Anglers Outfitters)
    2. SW Lab 370g (Available @ Changi Pro)
    3. WR Jig 300g (Available @ Hock Heng)

Our catch wasn’t anything to scream or shout about considering the amount of hard work we had to go through. However, the beautiful scenery and wonderful company more than made up for the lack of action.
There was endless laughter and at times we laughed so hard it hurt!
    Photos will be up shortly.

    Hi Bro Mark,
    Wow
Nice CR and photos there. Congratulation to all, you all sure enjoy the trip in beautiful Bali.
Just wondering, what set-up is the guy in photo no 7 used. The reel look small. Can it take the GT run ?
Hope to hear the full story from you whenever we meet at Sultana Cafe.

    Cheers.

Guess you're talking about image 17 That's a BaitRunner 4500 loaded with 50lb Braid... definitely enough for up to 15kg fish.

Seriously there wasn't much to tell abt this trip other then some ghost story abt Tianyar that managed to get us tense up quite abit. of course there is some pretty strong take which result in "drop hook" but other then that there really wasn't anything much, furthermore we waste too much time watching our 400/500g jig drift to dunno where because of the strong current whcih forced us to target mid water then at certain time became targetting almost top water fish hahaha...

    cheers

Yeah we did... but it seems the swells @ night were bigger than Escolars

Not sure about having Escolars in plaque proportions but I guess it would help if there were electronics. Jigging in Tianyar is an easy going thing... if there's fish there's fish. You gotta have the right mentality

    Vincent,

Bottom fishing just as bad, only one fish, gao he >10kg (14kg). Rest of catch like ikan bilis size

Honestly I have seen many HB/SCS catches that are far better.

Next Bali trip in October, but full already sorry man...Adhek's boat small lah. Myself, ChrisT, Jac and Tiong will be going this time. 3 days with Adhek, 1 day on local boat at Tianyar (hopefully). Hope to kenna sppol by big YFT on jig...hehe

You really want to go? Maybe can organize a 2 day trip over sat sun so I don't hv to take more leave. Depends on flight schdule, leave friday evening, return sunday night...presently no flights to and fro Bali that will meet this schedule.

    Good luck at Spratlys man!

    Hi Mike,

Interesting catches you have. Just spoke to Dyran this morning and he is stressing me out by trying to talk me into going for the next Bali trip, due on 29/7/05.

Will be sitting down to discuss the "issue" with him at "brunch" tomorrow.

Btw, when can we meet again...besides 29/7/05 (that is if I can make it on the 29th)?

Looking forward to meeting you again.

Roy my man I'm glad you've decided to dive head first into the world of jigging :P Sorry I read this so late otherwise would have joined you guys for brunch. Anyway we'll have a "warm up" jigging session prior to Bali so don't worry okay I'm sure you'll be "jerking" like a pro soon

No worries bro, as we can always try to meet up on one of these days. A couple of cups of teh-o at a prata stall in Jln Kayu would be good!

Make a plan with Dyran and the guy will keep me informed.

    Cheers bro!
