4 anglers joined me for this short trip. Purchase live prawn thinking that we will have a short window period of slow current in the day. We started fishing at 4pm, unfortunately, current was strong throughout the evening. It was a slow start to the trip with Kerwin and myself landing 1 guhood and 1 queen fish each before nightfall. Kerwin’s queenie was about 7kg while mine was 5kg+.
Current was strong in the early part of the night so boatman brought us to shallow water. Using kelong squid, our champ for the trip, kerwin landed 3 goldie, myself landed one kaci and one grouper while nelson landed one goldie when current is strong. Live squid surfaced when current slowed down at 1am; 10+ pieces of sotong were netted. Boatman was very hard working constantly shifting but fish not co-operating. Robert landed the biggest grouper of our trip. A few more fishes (goldie, grouper, kaci, teeboon and golden gelama) were landed before we stop fishing at 5am.
