    Hi Mark,
The 4'8" blanks from memory are 135g, and the 6'0" below lifting 45kg is 180g

    Thanks Nev for the specs.

The fast action 6'0" blank is impressive...45kg lift for a 6 foot blank is amazing...I understand that this blank is faster than the FTs...I'm sure this blank will be a hit with jiggers who favor the fast action of Sevenseas rods and who like to jig from the belt with the long stroke...Matsutani style

    Hi Nev,

I had a pull on the 550FT 4'8" which arrived today...Graeme thinks they are too powerful for anything in NZ waters...they are indeed very powerful and fast but they will definitely be good for 50kg+ doggies and GT jigging at the rigs...there are guys here who will love this blank for sure Thank you for putting together a 4'8" model for us.

    Best regards,
    Mark

    Hi Ken,

Got your email from Graeme. Your must be Eric's mate! Welcome to FO!

You will love the 4'8" 550FT...it's a very powerful rod and very light

    Best regards,
    Mark

    Thanks Nev,

25kg with feet level to the floor...very nice comfortable bend for PE 12 with what looks like still plenty of reserve for stubborn fish...

That rod has a lot of lift with what appears to be a nice load ratio too for the angler...a stiffer faster rod with a fulcrum higher on the blank would have made it impossible to lift that load I bet!

Hope it will cast as well as the Japanese GT rods though!!

    Cheers,
    mark

    Hi Nev,

I think we could pair that blank with PE 15 instead!!!

At the way things are going with GT fishing...twisted leaders of 200lb, 400lb Kevlar bite leader, 200g poppers...10/0 trebles, hollow spectra.... I think we will see the use of PE15 for GT popping soon...there are already PE15, 20 and 30 GSP lines in Japan used for deep drop bottom fishing...not long before GT fishermen use them...and I think the "new" carbon technology rods we are seeing these days should be up to the task with these heavy lines!

    Hi Mark ,

Definitely not for old muscles like me , I drop down from PE10 max. to PE8 max. , even then most of the time I use PE6 nowaday .

Don't think so mate...that's for big strong guys...

Think i'll stick to PE10 and 12...need to shed some pounds first as well & need to find a new EXH...broken 2 already due to angler error & accidents...damn!

    Re: Synit Venom Specs

I'm sure you can handle the PE15....just need to use a TLD50 as reel for the line cap..

We got no luck with EXH. All broken and cast aside.
