Rep Power: 0  |  Poppin da Rompin Hi there, nice to have found this info packed and active forum. Am a newbie to offshore lure-casting/jigging, being a shore angler all this while and am looking to tangle with a sailfish later this year. After trawling through all the threads, I am thinking that a short rod of say 6 to 6 1/2 ft would suit the Rompin boats well(I might be wrong). Thinking of the majorcraft offblow PE1-3 with a jig weight of 90g...am assuming this would serve a dual purpose for light jigging and casting of stickbaits and poppers, paired with say a certate 3500HD or Hyper Custom 4000. Or perhaps should I just go with a dedicated light popping outfit? Hopefully the sailfish experts can address my queries as to how I should gear up. Jigging would be a side dish with the main entree being lure casting.  Thks much! Mugi |
