New to Jigging. Hope to learn from you all.

Would like to introduce myself. My name's Kevin and I just got myself a light jigging set Eupro PE3 matched with Daiwa Freams KIX 3000. Went to Pekan and managed to catch some fishes on jigs but none of the impressive sized fishes. Just want to ask one question... where can I read on a detailed writeup about PE rods? I mean, what is the difference between PE1-3 and PE3? I wondered of I had gotten the wrong rod for Pekan perhaps.

Besides the correct jigging setup fishing is also deeply depend on hard work plus luck. There is no problem with your current jigging setup and when mentioned impressive sized fishes what are you actually target at ? 10kg to 20kg ?

Fishing is also depend on season as some of the fishes are seasonal in pekan such as tenggiri & ebek normally come in March & April while sailfish normally in August & Sept of the year.

The above information is just for your reference as I may be wrong too since usually I only target parrot fish in pekan on bottom fishing.

Impressive to me is the fact jiggers are chaulking in 10+kg fishes at least half a dozen or more as opposed to me chaulking in 1-kg "babies". And yes, I did study the best times to go, choosing to go on July 13th for a day trip. Perhaps I am too new to this and expected too much. Will definately work harder and try harder.
