Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hello all Hello all, Just a quick intro. I used to frequent Fishingkaki but stopped visiting as the posts relating to my favourite type of fishing, gamefishing, were few and far between. Glad to see members like Makaira, Dafrog, Sportfisherman etc here. I know Sportfisherman personally and have corresponded with Makaira fairly often via email. I lived in SG for several years before returning to the UK where I have been based ever since. Started saltwater fishing in Indonesia with a workmate of my dad's, after we caught the first tenggiri I was hooked. Hooked up my first black marlin the same way lots of SG and MY anglers did, near an unjam close to Pulau Aur. Later I was able to fish in Phuket and further abroad. I still have a keen interest in gamefishing in the SEA region and return to visit family at fairly regular intervals. Look forward to reading through the posts and bringing myself up to date. Good luck to you all, Regards P. |

Guys, if you are into trolling; especially for billfish -- yes, there are still some of use left, we are not all dead , this is DA MAN! So pick his brain on this subject. He has fished & deckied on gameboats in Madeira & Phuket and has probably seen more granders (maybe even leadered a few) than anyone of us will ever see in our lifetimes. Best regards, Makaira |

There was one back in July 2002 that my old skipper called 950+, but he wasn't going to say it was a grander so maybe one day! I have seen a couple fish that would have been 1000 lbs or bigger but unfortunately all hooked by other boats I love any size marlin though. They are all special. Next time you're in London give me a call. Last year I was able to fish quite a bit, wired my personal best bigeye tuna (Makaira has the photos). Very much looking forward to 2008. |
