tis was our virgin trip to rompin for all kakis.

31st oct 08 friday

3pm turf city, bt timah our 1st pick up point. 2nd point, woodlands for ben & hong.
cleared both custom already abt 4.30pm. driver tooks few shortcuts to avoid the heavy traffic flow.
at 1 of the cuts, suddenly the vehicle brokedown...oh no! my god! not so unlucky pa!
driver say minor problem la told us to a puff & he will fix it in no time.
he really kept his word it was done before we could finish the cigratte.
then we cont our journey, reached mersing abt 6.30pm est. stopped for toilet & shopping for
tibits, drinks, beers...etc. finally saw the signature landmark of rompin. to me the landmark
looks more like marlin then sailfish...haha. we hv our dinner at the nearby coffeeshop the foods
was delicious everybody loved it! yummy! arrived the resort 9pm est wash up la, set up gear la,
sharing opinion la, tcss till 1am lights off...zzzzzzzz....zzzzzzzz....

1st nov 08 saturday

mrng call 6.45am. wash up walk to cafe for our 1st breakfast nice nasi lemak they served.
i loved the chilli yummy! at the cafe robson met 1 fren told him there was plenty of sailfish
out there yday but they dont hv enough baitfish if not easily can get 30 hits.
transport arrived took us to the nearby jetty that belonged to the resort.
boarded & off to the baitfish spot after getting enough baitfish, we charge to chase the seabird.
total 3 sailfish landed 10 lost.

hong 3rd sailfish landed 3 lost
peter 0 landed 2 lost (1 lost on sabiki..hahaa..)
myself 0 landed 1 lost

2nd nov 08 sunday

today we doing bottom fishing. woke up saw the sky covered with dark cloud. mind thinking there
goes the day gg to rain cant fish liao. ask robson chk wif sam how can go out anot? he say hv
to wait now outside big wind & strong current. still we boarded the boat while waiting for the
weather to clam down, sam told deckie to chop a bunch of ah tat ji that are growing along the
riverside. we tasted it not bad quite nice. sam got a call for help from the local boatman cos
he confidence to charge out of the river mouth as his boat loaded with 1 motor only. sam instructed
his deckie to bring us out 1st & meet at baitfish spot. after abt half an hour, sam arrived while
he was trying to cross to our boat. he got a slip! omg!!! crazy liao!!! lucky he reacted fast grab hold
tight if not i tell you boy...dont know where he is gg to flow to? 1st spot, bite rate was good.
i got 1 gao weigh 800gm est. we managed to hook up quite numbers of ang ko li & big eye. 2nd spot,
bite rate was not good i hook up 1 parrot weigh 1kg est. sam landed 1 young cuda on lure. seeing
that not much action we agreed to head back to shore ckali sam say give him 15mins more....haha...
we all laughed!!! back in sg, ask boatman go back cnfm no 2nd word anchor up, engine start, shoot liao.
haha...so give him 15mins lor but he no lose face hook up the last fish of the trip 1 beautiful table size
spotted gao. haha...!!! back to shore wash up, took dinner & back to singapore!

overall its was enjoyable trip with all the kakis. like to thanks robson & sam on behalf of the kaki.
we will be back next year! orhtalah!!!
