    Alor Trip Results - 10th to 15th April 2009

Here are some photographs from a GT popping trip in Alor, Indonesia by a Japanese angler.

    Date: 10th to 15th April
    Lunar Dates: 16th to 21st
    Number of anglers: 1
    Number of strikes: Minimum 80
    Fish Landed: 26

    From the angler's email:

"For this trip, the tide was coming in from the wrong direction and the current was not strong, however I still managed to land 2 x 140cm, 2 x 135cm and 2 x 130cm GTs, so it was still enjoyable. Throughout the trip, there were plenty of strikes, so of them were 150cm and over. But because of my inexperience, many managed to throw hooks and evade being captured, some were lost when fish was visible at boatside. It was regrettable. I wished the shark would throw hook but it didnt. Alor is still a wonderful place to fish in."

Please enjoy some of the photos.

    Hi,

I am not a believer of these weight calculation formula, but according to papers, I think 140cm is estimated at around 30 odd kg.

I am not the angler nor on the trip, so I do not have information on the gears he used. Obly sure thing is that the fishes were landed on popping.

    Cheers.
