Wow! Didn't know Tukun Perak can still produce the goods! That's a lot of GTs! Hopefully I can join a trip up there soon! Are they by baiting, popping or jigging? I did see an assist hook on one of the bigger GT thou.

wahahahaha... a few quick thoughts-

1) The anglers must have some secret receipe for cooking GT
2) The trip must have been a blast!
3) Don't bother going up to Tukun Perak anymore Think the population of GT will be wiped out soon
4) Thanks for sharing the photos

A few quick thought of my own:- whahahah

1) GTs of smaller size are well known for its curry fishead
2) Looking at the pics, the trip would have been a blast
3) Fish somewhere near Tukun Perak- The GT's would have migrated
4) Was the GT's caught on jig or bait?

hahahhaa

Re: Tukun Perak 9-11 Nov 2007

the main reasons for the blast:

- fantastic sea conditions; a lot of folks would have been knocked out by the time they get to the Tukun, but on this trip, it was simply great
- good boatman

AND, the biggest factor of all; the trip was organised by boatmen from Pekan who wanted to try out the famed GTs at Tukun. These guys from Pekan are the real pros.

Hi Kudat,

Thanks for seeing your reply but the question of whether it's is baiting or jigging has not been answered.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Cheers

Re: Tukun Perak 9-11 Nov 2007

The GT population in T Perak is already very scarced for the last 5 or 6 years due to overfished problem just recently heard my friend from Kedah that a trawler boat from Penang came back from T Perak with a truck load of GTs what a pity as very soon this GT play ground soon will become a history.
