Rep Power: 4 ![]() | A memorable christmas present Last weekend, 3 ali baba decides to head east of Malaysia after reports of sharks encountered by the locals. Fishing started on saturday morning. Fished till 5pm, was rainning the whole day and swells were up to 2m high, no shark in sight except for couples of sagai. Second day, left early as 7am to jig for tambans & selars. Head directly to the spot after getting enough bait. Upon arrival, hook a live tamban and let it drift towards the rocks and within minutes, was rewarded with a fish at the end of the line. Soon after that, line was peeling off very hard and fast. Drag was increased on my Freams 4500J which resulted in hook broke Out came the Tiburon 7560 pair with a customised rod - physlo2 special. Drag on strike was around 9kgs and as usual, bait up the tamban and let it drift. Not long after, a sagai was at the end of the line and i just let it struggle to catch the sharks attention. Truth enough, i'm on to it after that. Fight lasted about 35 mins before we could see the shark surface and spent another 15 mins to get it into the boat. Head back to shore with the shark on board immediately after. The shark was cut into 5 portions and weighed piece by piece. In total, the shark weighed 65kgs. Meat was then distributed to villagers and fins taken by a chinese friend of mine. Fishing resume after that and we continue hooking all sorts of travellys from 1 to 4kgs. Please enjoy pictures attached. Cheers! |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Guys, Sharks are still around that area. You guys might want to consider before they moved to another spot. I might want to head down again mid of next month. This time it's CNR. Happy as i may seem, i regretted to have kill a beautiful species especially of this size. Cheers! physlo |
