Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Catch Report of Team IMF This trip was initiated after signs of sharks happened to be around at one of our usual fishing ground. Last Saturday, 6 amigos then left Sillypore and head to Malaysia hoping to tangle with these sharks. Upon reaching Tg. Leman jetty, boatman was already there and without further delays, we head straight to his home for a quick breakfast and start our fishing soon after. On the first day, we did some light fishing for some fresh fish to ta-pao home. As usual, we caught leng chiams, sagai, bulats and assortment of coral reef fishes. Same goes for the second day only that we had an unexpected guest….This bugger took 20 mins to land. We had to take extra precaution since we are using 25 lbs leader and fishing vicinity is covered with coral reefs. Everyone felt so relieved after the bugger was brought onto the boat. Wah piang eh….what a surprise! This must be the biggest Kim Chiu we had ever come across. Tip the scale at 8 kgs and was told by boatman that it’s the biggest ever caught in that area. Not long after, we had another strike. This time the fight was slightly shorter and within minutes, a second Kim Chiu landed. This one weighed 7.6 kgs. Since everyone was eager for some photo session as remembrance, we call it a day and head back to shore. On the last day of this trip, boatman informed that only 3 amigos was allowed on this shark hunting expedition as the sea was a bit choppy. Since all of us are here for some shark action, we came up with a vote system using the traditional o-ah-pay-ah som way. Being desperate to go, I cheated my way to win a spot…forgive me guys. Armed with a Accurate 665H paired with a JM 400G and another set up consisting of a Jigger 2000 paired with a 15-30 Extreme X-Calibre (courtesy of Yazid Yogi), we then head out to the intended spot. It did not take long to get a strike since the current was to our favor. In total of 3 hours fishing, we had 4 to 5 very strong strikes suspected to be sharks but too bad lost all of them as they head straight to the reef. Our 100 lbs leader stands no chance against the rocks. Although we did not land any this time, we will be back with a different strategy next time. Thank you Team IMF…good kakis always makes it up if the fishing happens to be lousy. Cheers physlo |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Catch Report of Team IMF Edy, You can plan one yourself. Usually boatman will take 4 pax but during this period of time, he only allows max 3 as the waters around Tinggi are getting choppy. I can pass you the boatman contact anytime. He speaks only malay but you can communicate in bahasa. Don't wait, the sharks are already in. Regards physlo2 |

The reef must have been right under the boat for the fish to make it back to the reef each time on max drag from your 665.... Thats the biggest KC I ever seen too man... wow and on 25lb leader too, great work dude. Next time use 400lb handline... but watch out the boat doesn't go to the reef either.... Saimee

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Catch Report of Team IMF Saimee, We fished close to the rocks, about 20-30m away from the tukun. Initial plans was to lure them away with live baits but none was caught that day. So we have to make do with smelly sotongs. Things wouls have been different if we have a live sagais as bait. Supersky, Plan a trip with Edy lah while the sharks are still around. Best if you have a kaki who is willing to drive up in order to save cost. Mark, There are surprises at Tinggi just waiting to be explore. Was told by boatman that somebody from Singapore landed a 19kg GT last year with a popping outfit. rascal, The angler has a 20 min of climax...hahahaha Regards physlo |

Guess I will have to wait till next year Vincent and Robert, Maybe next year or actually both of you could organise the trip on this year before the sharks become "soup"! Cheers, Edy |
