| Junior Member | Chanos-chanos November 2006 Location: Kuantan, Pahang Rod: Abu Garcia Conolon Reel: Daiwa Laguna Line: STERN braided 15lb Bait: Gardenia bread Managed to sneak into the area at 10.00pm and start throwing some bread into the pond (connected to the sea via small channel) to 'bribe' them... Start fishing when the species playing around the spot with their splashing and jumping just above the water... Waiting for at least 15 minutes, my bait has been taken, with instant run and sprint non stop until near the opposite bank he stop...fighting with the lighty take at least 20minutes and managed to land it,weight 7.5kg, catch some photo and release. Best fight with lighty and first time land the species on land... Will sneak again into the spot.... |

Don't think it's a freshwater fish , more like estuary species . We call it Bandeng in Indonesia but not the species raised in the commercial ponds , this chanos chanos is the wild species and they share the name Milk Fish . Sportfisherman . | |
