Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Just a short catch report for the trip. Not much action despite the efforts put in to jig and pop. Baitfish was scarce and there were no pelagics or sotong which was strange. Like all anglers who experience bad catch, the positive thing was the company was great, food was excellent and atleast we landed 3 sails and an approximate 20000gram marlin. Kudos to virgin angler Raymond on his 1st overseas fishing trip for showing the old birds how to catch fish - with a sail on the 1st day and the marlin on the 2nd. |

My Mood: Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() | Yo Chris, Thanks for putting up the pictures and report. Yes, it was unsually quiet, especially with the green eyes and baitfish. Quite a lot of selar and selar kuning but hardly any kembong or tamban Oh yes, must add that "MarkR graciously gave up his turn on the strike when he knew that a marlin had taken the live bait"...wahahahahahahahaha... ![]() Great company and good food, wholeheartedly agree ![]() Last edited by MarkR : 22-08-2006 at 12:14 PM. |

The Marlin put up a good fight, took much longer to come in than the sails. Boatman's first Marlin in 5 years of charter. Cheers Last edited by MarkR : 22-08-2006 at 12:04 PM.

Was hoping the squid and leather jackets would still be around in numbers but not a single leather jacket! Not many sails either but lots of big big todaks unfortunately... Good luck & tight lines

Glad to have you on FO, hope you'll find this place a nice refuge on the web. U guys were great company, hope we get to fish together soon Not many ikan bilis trawlers around dude, guess the ikan bilis have gone elsewhere...could explain the absence of the sails too. tight lines
