3rd July 2004 – Sedili

A party of six set off from Singapore to Sedili early at 2am on 3rd July 2004, tagging along was two seriously drunkard dudes – Edy & Chris. The 2.5 hours driving journey provided opportunity for those two alcoholics to get some much needed rest before the fishing action begins.

We were warmly welcomed by the peaceful and holy sound of Koran chanting at the port of Sedili, where our fishing gang boarded the fishing boat and headed out to sea. We reached the first spot just before the sun raises, and within 30 seconds of the drop of the first line, our follow angler brought up a good table size parrotfish.

Edy’s tackle spring into action just minutes after the first parrotfish was landed, and within minutes Edy brought up a beautiful 2kg parrotfish. At this point, I gave Vincent [our organiser of our trip] the “are you sure we got enough ice box?” look.

But somehow after that look; action seems to have come to a halt. It was non-stop baitfish action until early evening before we the action regains its momentum, this time round “potato” fish became the lead cast – plate size “potato” fishes were brought in to provide consolation for us.

At the end of the day, everyone brought home with them some fishes and a wonderful onboard lunch dinning experience, where the master chef whipped up a blend of curry dishes to fulfil our famishing stomachs.
