Brings back memories of my Similans trip...we were passing a commercial fishing vessel, all handliners and they were hauling chinaman fish after chinaman fish, good size, easily 10kg...pity Uwe didnt have enough length of anchor rope to drop anchor at that spot  |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Andaman Hi Mark, This is Andamans as in Andaman Islands, not fishing in the Andaman Sea off Phuket  Those photos are from about a month's stay in Port Blair. How many charter days, I am not too sure. Imho, nothing really spectacular size-wise though -- popping / jigging; as we have read from the post in another forum by anglers who have fished there & expected BIG fish. Potential for big marlin is great though from what I hear. John Pearce is now running the Andaman Island charter on a spanking new 47 footer Riviera sportfisher -- talk about fishing in luxury!!! Not too sure about Uwe. Last I heard in 2006, he was in the process of buying equipment to outfit a new boat. Not too sure what is happening now. Best regards, Makaira |
