team sepak Tanjung Pinang/Catch Report

everyone was smiling.everyone caught something....some a little more .....some a little less.

team sepak went for their first fishing trip to Tanjung P for the year.team members Bro RK,Sha,Slick,ikan tongkol.Zikista,Black magic Nemo,Rosman and myself went for ths trip.went there Sun(26th n returned yesterday).

Upon arrival,met up with a group of S'pore anglers who were on their way back after fishing.They told us catch rate was not good as the current was super strong and fishing was quite difficult.I was kinda of glad they said that as I had hoped our trip would be the complete opposite.As usual,black magic nemo was the first to bring up a nice red snapper(thus the nick "black magic") .Bro RK was also doing fine with d pulling up of several decent sizes of various fishes.(see pic)Ikan tonkol was also pulling them up with always a smile to go with it.Zik was also one of d earlier anglers who caught a nice size fish.Some nice sizes goldies was also brought up by d team. I than caught my very first cobia(6.5kg) and it was an out of this world feeling! .Really enjoyed d fight as it was simply a strong fighter and I had much fun fighting it with my small evet reel.Took me about 20 minutes and it was really nice of d boys to bring up their lines . .This is the biggest fish caught........so far.

sha had a pull and so did super slick.It was quite a scene watching them fight the same fish moving like a siamese twin .They were fighting it hard but the fish was fighting them even harder!! .after many many many minutes...they finally managed to briing it up.The smiles on their faceswas as big as their prized catch!.No wonder ...it was a 33kg leopard ray!!!Kudos gentleman...good job!

Remember d 6.5kg cobia?well it's not d biggest anymore d moment Rosman's reel started to scream......that cool angler brought up a 12.5 kg cobia.Nice....real nice .we were also treated by a pleasant experience when one of d boy's rod started to bend like a cobra!I just lit my cig when it happen and he was still fighting it when i finished.Must be a monster we all thought.....wrong! we were all laughing(angler included) like krazy when it turn out to be a 400+ gramms "johnson".

Yup....it was a good trip and I really enjoyed myself.And looking at their faces,I'm sure they feel d same too.Oh ya....zik also cought a personal best snapper.Good job Zik n also Super slick who also caught a monster snapper.Special thanks to Bro RK for once again organising/co-ordinating this trip..Appreciate it much!

thks surfman.d ray was caught by da man sha and also slick.what i mean is that the ray probably thought that one angler was no match for her and she decided to whack both sha n slick's bait. anyway...sea condition was perfect.But we decided to cut it short as there was a storm building up at 0700hrs....but it doesnt matter as d boys were all happy enough.

thanks DF.My very first Mr Cobia and what an experience for me.Terkejut d buat nya when i just let go of my line and halfway down d bugger whack.I still had d rod in my hand.Hopefully i can still encouter the same experience in d coming trips.cheers DF

Bro Ozzi, Where have you been? It has been a long time I did not hear from you. Anyway, I was lucky to have Bro Slick hooking up the same fish, otherwise in my present health condition, I may not be able to bring the 33 kg monster on board.

Bro Hazig,
It was by chance the fish decided to take both our bait. But in terms of "quality fish" our Bro Rosman is the champion with his 12.5 kg Cobia.

Bro DayDay,
I dont think my joran is worth buying. It is the cheapest and of low end version. Cannot compare with other branded rods from Team Sepak example, Calstar, Rip tide, and many others. Its only by chance the monster ray was swept by strong current and be presented by the bait from my humble joran and of course the bait from Bro Slick's branded joran. Though heavy by nature, this particular joran of mine serve my needs coz I cannot afford to play with the fish. Otherwise instead of the fish being exhausted, I am the one who needs medical treatment, hehehehe.

Bro Fishbait,
I think the man of the day should go to Bro Rosman as the top "quality fish" caught. Though Bro Shah (fishpullipull) had a short opportunityto be the title holder before the next cobia was pulled in by Bro Rosman. Anyway, thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for the concern shown to me during my "Maiden Trip" after a long lay off from fishing. I really appreciate the helping hands given throughout the trip. It has always been a relief to find you guys always there whenever I need it. Infact my wife was reluctant to allow me for the Mapur trip, but, after assuring her that there are younger and helpful anglers following the trip, only then did she allowed me to go. I knew from the very start that I am in good hands with you guys on board. Thanks Team Sepak, its is a pleasure to go fishing with you guys.
