Hi Steven,

The fish was landed on 80lb braided with a 50lb class accurate reel. Calstar 6455XH series stand up rod. Fish was caught in 170m, twin 11/0 game hook rig with, I think 400lb wire leader. Mono leader of 300lb attached to a heavy duty spreader and 1 kg weight was the set up. Thanks

If my memory serves me right, there is an underwater cave. Lots of seabirds. Seagulls and frigates make this island their home. No villages, lots of phosphate ..... birdshit. The sandy shallow beach is home to a few types of baby rays, namely spotted & leopard rays, a nursery of sorts.
Now you are bringing my memory back ,those good old days chasing big mama YellowFin Tuna @ taka.....

Oi SC, Jff & CS,

Don't need to refresh your old memories, just make it happen in May 2008 and I am happy to be in the party. With the current available headcount, we should be able to make it even it is a 9 days trip. I spoke to KT as it is not possible before that because he just came back from RP in mid April 2008.

SC,

if you want to land a dog so badly, I proposed you to go to RI (100 % sure hit depending on sizes, it is a pest in certain areas)

Aiyo Mark,

sure jio U but this is more of a trolling cum heavy bottom trip (very small percentage of jigging and popping)... will let the your group know about the details because the previous groups went there many moons back.

Re: Mambo In Marasende

SC,

don't be a joker as I know nothing about this place and moreover I do not know whether the fish like jig or not. You think every place is like 3 kings, fermantle and RI whereby jigs had been tested and proven effective. Even spanner or pliers work in fermantle

Don't talk so much, keep low profile and just get your name on the list and pay the deposit once the trip is confirm. Move ON please.

Re: Mambo In Marasende

Yes you did, a mere 5kg chihuahua which ended up as bait for the Thresher shark we landed! Speaking of which, I've already inquired about the boat, logistics, accomodations etc for Bira. You On for November?
