Bluewater Fishing Expedition

Went to an usual spot last nite to do some fishing n eging. While my
friend n i was on the way to the spot, he realise that he had brought
a wrong reel. A reel without line loaded. Too bad cannot fish n 200gm
of live prawn wasted, so left with me casting for squid. Caught a decent size one n proceed to the second spot alone with my friend alone at the first one.
First cast into the brightly lited water saw a big fellow approach
n hug my egi. Hook was set n while trying to bring it up, it struggle
n drop back into water "SHIT"

. Should bring my squid gaff.
Cast again n saw two same size ika approaching. One grab the egi
n hook was set again. This time only connect to one tentacle, no
choice had to call my friend for help while i climb down to land it.
After landing it, i hook up another one but lost it half way with some
ink injected.
After that no more action, think they ganna spook already.
All the live prawns were released there to feed the Aori ika n
we went to a coffee shop for our fresh sambal squids.

Stickbom, i will be going back there soon. Will pm u again to see if

The biggest one measured 24cm for body length.

Is it also possible to use a handline for your eging?..

Should not be a problem if the current is not strong to wash it ashore.
I guess u are refering to using a bait fish or prawn attach
to an umbrella hook with a float.

Hi Edros, its me Kline,nice to see u here. I went with Alex that nite.
Will plan a trip soon cum a coffee session after that.....
n who knows there might some fresh squid to go along
