Catch Report-southern islands 9 Apr nite

Weights used for the nite ranges from 300 - 700g (on power pro #50). Didn't take shelter from current since 700g is not considered heavy for deep waters at southern islands
Fishing ground - depth drop from 40M to 60+ M
Bait used - frozen kelong squid + netted live squid
All snapper(biggest 6.5 lbs on boga) landed with live squid or fresh strip of arrow squid. Moreover within short window period of an hour or so

Let the pics tell the final story

If keen to do weighlifting at southern islands to build up fishing muscles , details at "chartered trips" section of this forum

Enjoy

Cheers,

Hi Edy,

Live/fresh squid are indeed killer bait for ang cho , also an universal bait during night fishing for many other species.

This sotong season should be around for another 2-3 weeks. Mainly arrow squid recently & I'm hoping that the smaller species of squid will arrive when arrow squid season is ending. When squid are easily available at southern islands(indirectly there's food source for the squids), the results are somewhat better as fishes hang around places where the food source is. Some of the netted squid spitted small pieces of tamban/bait fish upon being netted.

Hope you can find time to do some fishing before this season is over

Best regards
Yew Seng
