Catch Report on Sat

As usual wake up early but not as early as the last weekend due to the later tide on saturday ,so can take things pretty slowly this time round .Went around getting stuffs and decided to use live shrimps for bait today ,hence have to do more travelling and stops with the gears and stuffs ..and before fishing already pretty tired already man .And in the end I end up with another mad rush ..haha ,but manage to reach there before the good fishing time starts .And while setting up the tackles I realise I forgot to bring the rod stand connector ,and had to use the other frimsy rod holder which is intended for lying rods on it instead for holding heavier rods .But well ,better then holding it with my hands the whole day .And while pouring out the shrimps into the container ,I realise most of them are tooOO big !! This time round really jialak ,was quite worried that I will use up the shrimps faster then I have plan and also that the bigger ones will be wasted only .Anyway what to do ,its me that took my own sweet time and end up rushing like mad .Whatever it is ,have to do more pre-casting planning inorder not to make mistakes and waste the shrimps .

To make sure I have enough ammo to last my fishing escapade ,I sat in the shade for about an hour plus and wait till the tide starts to recide and the current starts to change direction as this is the best timing to get better bites .As soon as the water current change ,fishing commence .And at the 2rd cast sound rattle on the rod tip is sighted ,decided to retrieve the rig as most of the time the bait will be gone due to those small bait stealer .But to my surprise theres someting at the end of the line ,I thought it might be a grouper as theres no pull or dash from the fish .But in the end it was a mangrove jack ! And frankly speaking its my first local shore base MJ ,what a surprise .But the fish looks injured as the tail is abit torn ..maybe thats why theres no pull from it .Then at 3pm+ ,I got another rattle ,and this time round theres some pull from it ,and when I brought it up it was another MJ .And after a while a regular brought up another one ,and this makes me suspect that could be some release fish from certain organization as the MJ don't really pull hard enough ...anyway ,who knows .And by then some others anglers starts to turn up ,and we have around 8-9 person fishing in a small area .But this guys are got good fishing ethics despite the clampy place ,we manage to fish without any hassle .Some of them brought 2 rods and when they see such situation the only set up one ,and the longer rods are park further away as it can reach the intended casting area with ease as the shorter rods can move in .Hence in awhile ,everyone got to know each other whereas I have witness really bad case on the following day itself .After my diving trip in the morning ,my friend which only join me very late on satuday wants to fish ,so I decide join him to fish on sunday .Upon reaching ,theres this 2 guys that occupied the whole area and capable of making some anglers to stop fishing ,as they can set up 3-4 rods each and mend to one rod catching selar papan leaving the 12 foot rod standing high for as long I can remember and the bait use was shrimp meat !And each rod has a big space inbetween rather then parking them near to each other to allow others to fish ,and the lines are been swiped where the current flows ,making fishing inbetween the widely space rods impossible .Worst of all when he knows that each of us are casting at the same area and he didn't even bother to touch his rod when the line cross several times ,or wind back the line to cast out again despite the line had been swipe to the left which is directly infront of us .And at the moment a big eagle ray flew out of the water ,he then decide to wind back and rebait for that ray ..geeze .Anyway ,I was so bloody tired to fish anymore due to diving and super hot sun that sunday plus my salty body ..it is very uncomfortable .

Okay ,back to saturday and to summarized the Catch Report .The bunch of us (which only know for a short while) managed to land quite decent size fish ,total we got three mangrove jacks ,one 1kg+ tiger grouper ,one 1.5 kg or so black kaci and two small groupers .And some small ones which was release .Pretty good I would say for local shore base fishing .
