Remote Kimberley Fishing. North West Australia

Greetings from Australia. Thought i'd share a trip I do a bit of guiding on.
I live on the East Coast of Australia and travel 5000kl to Perth (west coast) then 2500kl north to Broome. Then from Broome a Float Plane (DeHavilland Otter) takes you the last 400 odd Klms north .
To say the camp is remote is a Understatement, the nearest road is about 200klm away and that is only a dirt road.
Peter who runs the Camp has got permission from the traditional owners for this and you can see as the place is not Stuffed up.There is no feral animals at all. Thats how isolated it is.
What draws most people to this spot is the Fishing, throw in the isolation and the country well you've got me.
* The flight itself is spectacular flying over the Buccaneer Archipelago and seeing the massive tidal flow racing around. Ive done the flight a few times and it certainly gets your heart racing in anticipation of whats ahead.

My office, a custom Quinny with a 80hp tiller steer 4-stroke Yammy

Sunset* through a Boab Tree. To give you a idea or the tidal movement, about the biggest in Australia,10mt plus... The tide came up to just in front of the Boab Tree and at the rear,Lhs top of the photo you can see three specks, thats the boats and they were dry on a couple of low tides.

Barra for tea

No shortage of Curious Crocs

Fishing the Gorge country

No shortage of small to medium GT's

There was no shortage of stories or adventures, but I'd take up pages and I'm such a slow typer* * * * * *

Gday BF,

Thanks for the post and the pics.... I've always wanted to fish the land of OZ, especially the more out of the way areas. But getting the requisite time off from work & clan has never yet been possible.

Looks like you've got the right place, but you might want to pass on a few more tidbits regarding the fishing mate .

Y'all take it easy and keep an eye on those crocs.

Best Regards,

Saimee

Hi DaFrogman,
It certainly is a wild place, which is why I love that part of the country.
Did you want a couple of stories on the trip or a couple of tips ...........
Not the best story writer ,might bore you or send you to sleep.

Htchng Crocs are protected in Australia. We accidently hooked one in the front Leg when live Baiting and the thing just did one Death roll, then was led up to the boat easily certainly not a fight like a Stingray, though when I grabbed the trace to cut the line as close to the hook as possible ... it eyed me off and tried to have my hand for lunch. Would made great Video footage ,lots of splashing and snapping Teeth .

One of the things that also make great viewing is I take of the Hooks on a large Popper and get the Clients to cast near them ,the Crocs get very Excited and try to Kill the Popper but you drag it away just before they get it which makes them more excited...... lots of Teeth and angry Croc.
Regards,
B.F.
