Jigging with stupid gear......

Everseen how far can you go with that cheap 3'6" canoe rod you see in tackle store??? Here you go. Matched to a TD Sol 2500 and 10lb Matrix Pro. Fish landed varies from 40cm babies to 8kg rat sambos and ambos.......and I only lost one to crossing lines.

Yo Hon Su

I am surprised the rod did not break!!!

Was it feel like handline with such a bend?

What is the weight of your jig?

Cheers,
Edy

Hi hon-su,

How do you find the TD SOL series? Do you think the 4000 will be able to take some abuse?

And it seems like you are putting on weight dude.

Cheers

Hon-Su dude,

Heheheehehehehehehehe... that was just too funny, definitely like a handline, you reckon the rod would have survived a smidgen of high sticking?.

hahaha... good eat good sleep!! Eh Edros the TD SOL is probably a repainted Caldia Kix... don't get so excited. I remember yeeeeeeears ago when Shimano launched their Calcutta BC reels... I had a silver 200 and rushed out to buy the gleeeeeaming new gold 250. After I got home and compared them side by side... OMG! everything the same except color and price tag

That may look like it from the outside....yes internally they are the same. But for the extra $10 more than the Caldia Kix of the same size you get metal rotor and bail arm, spare spool and a bright orange paint job.

What about the Luvias, TD Airity, TD-Z, Gekabijin and Emeraldas?? All seem to be the same reel.....

My Sol is just fine......only running 10lb braid and not LOCKING drags even tho its capable of 7kg!! Pity there's no 4000 size =(

Hmmm if the Sol comes with a spare spool and it doesn't cost much more than a Caldia Kix then it would be a much better investment!

Man ...... I really envy you Honsu. The fishes over there are so thick & willing and you can fish with such regularity that you can "afford" to have such unbridled fun!!! This falls into the same category as jigging with a spanner Seriously .... no sarcasm intended. You guys over there really have it good!!!
