Bluewater Fishing Expedition

Went honeymoon at Mauritius…Mauritius isn’t that fantastic! Postcard photos are all bullshit man! Anyway....Visited lle aux cerfs. This is one paradise!

On board of one superb catamaran! (bigger version of Makaira catamaran)

Managed to do some fishing there. On board on this game boat "Horizon"

Target: Black marlin! It’s the season now but guess wat? Trolled all the way. No marlin no bonito no mahi mahi nothing! Sea state was like “The perfect storm” almost gave up! I shared the boat with another couple. They couldn’t take it so request to head back shore. I “boring half man” Paid almost $400 n that’s it? Ask skipper if there are reefs that I can do some light jigging or popping. Went out again. Skipper told me this island good for jigging n popping!!! Blue water with dropoffs. Beautiful place. I wonder, did you also try Rodrigues isld. ? Heard Rodrigues is a lot better than Mauritius...

Ooops, sorry brother.... I thought, if i'm not mistaken, from Mauritius to Rodrigues is only half or one hour with local flight. So, I think it isn't that costy, since you've already been there.....

But anyway, I suppose you have a great honeymoon there.......and wish all the best to you !!!

If I am not mistaken, that is actually a baby GT, not a bluefin

If the charter you went on told you Black Marlin is in season, then you probably went with the wrong charter who is clueless because Mauritius is essentially a Blue Marlin fishery. Blacks are rare; very few & far between

Marlin fishing is like that -- an all or nothing game. If you managed to have a marlin hit on that day, you would have been very, very lucky!!!

Edy, where wont be any son of chris for this yr n nx. how about baby edy?

I got conned by the charter boss i think. he told me black marlin very common. if im lucky i can get blue marlin. anyway, i was too naive. i where got so heng to kena marlin. hahaha

For the the fish id, the crew told me this is a KINGfish. i was blur too. he told their biggest catch 35kg here. i lookied at him n ya ya. mine is 360g. their smallest!

it depends on place season and the boat
rodrigues is excellent but you must be most a sailor than an angler
waves 4-5 metres constantly

my friend 6 years ago I paid 800 usd for a swordfishing night in a sea mountain in Kenya where I was told that you can get 5-6 bites during the trip
and what! nothing nada niente gournicht
only a damn rough sea

at least my wife doesnt know about this
