| Moderator | MarkR dude, That is no damned Dogtooth dude.... That fish of yours be a WOLFtooth Tuna.... What a fish, muchos kudos and its nice to see the 4000P holding up to fish like that... great achievement there. The rest of the lads look like they had a ball too although I understand sea conditions could have been a touch more forgiving which makes you and your boys catches even more outstanding... Looks like the FO lads are in the thick of things yet again. Regards, Saimee P.S..... Mikey Skill L?..... Clones everywhere, shame there are no Dogtooth clones over here too.... Saimee

My Mood: Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Just got back from the States and I am catching up with the Catch Report's. Holey moley! That Dogtooth Tuna must have been a personal best Mark. What did it weigh? Looks like you did good, and the others didn't do too poorly either! Could you share some info on the trip planning & logistics please? Cheers, Khoo |

My Mood: Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() | Hi Khoo, We fished with Capt Yann Colas on the Black Marlin (www.rodfishingclub.com). Can liaise with him directly for his current rates. I understand that he will have to implement 15% VAT charges starting next year. To get to Rodrigues, you need to take a domestic flight from Maurice- about 1hr 45min duration. The three islands of Reunion, Maurice and Rodrigues are collectively known as the Mascarenes. The island's population is around 35,000. Accomodation for visitors is mainly in the form of small inns that provide breakfast and dinner. Lunch we have out at sea. There are some 3 star resort like hotels eg. Cotton Bay and the Marouk Ebony but these are very costly at about 120-150 euro per pax per night. The inn charged us about 30 euro per day. There are a couple of fairly good restaurants in the main town of Port Mathurin. Meals here would cost between S$20 to S$50 per person. Bear in mind that Rodrigues is very prone to cycolones from march to october each year. November to end feb would perhaps be the best time to plan a trip to Rodrigues. The weather was pretty sunny and windy when we were there. Not as hot or as humid as in Singapore. Most businesses accept only mauritian rupees (S$1 to 20 rp). Bigger establishments may accept payment in euro. cheers Last edited by MarkR : 21-11-2006 at 02:03 PM. |
