| Administrator | Jigging in Israel - Tel Aviv Jan 07 2005 I met my Israel friends around 5.30am in Ashod Marina and set off about 10mins to our Amberjack spot ... Water condition is abit choppy and the weather is really cold right now as it is Winter.. Equipped myself with Genesis BX57, Tib QC7540, PE6 line and a Duel pink color jig (200g), I started to jig ... First few drops yield no results ... but as a fisherman we never give up ... Finally i got a hit on the jig ... without much hassle we managed to bring in the fish (12KG amberjack). Everyone morale starts to pick up and we started to jig again but after awhile Jean noticed the boat drifted away from the spot where we landed the first fish. He starts the engine and we are back to the spot again .... First drop on my jig and Voila! there was a strong pull ... 8-10kgs drag from tibs was moving out for abt 20 to 30M and the fish stop for awhile ... I started to work on it and gained some line but after 7mins or so i got really cold and sick by the weather and I approached Jean to land the fish. After some fights, we managed to land it. It was a 32Kgs Amberjack. After that fish landed, my physical condition does not allow me to jig/fish anymore and after awhile we headed back to Marina. Lastly i would like to thank Jean for making this trip to happen and Dudi for fecthing me from Hotel and of course their warm welcome This is definetely a memorable event i have in Israel. Best Regards, Edy PS. no pics right now ... but i will try to upload it on Sunday (if i managed to get an USB cable for the camera else it will have to wait till i go home (Singapore). |
