My Mood: Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() | Burma Banks (Kingfisher team & Polaris Gold) Just watched the latest Kingfisher Video on Burma Banks...must be one of the best catches at BB ever! New boat- Polaris Gold. Biggest catch was a 40kg "Tong Gas" by master Ah Fatt. Multiple hook ups on Amberjacks, Groupers and Ruby Snappers, a lot of action...2 tonnes of fish in all i gather..quite a few AJs too and nice to see the Kingfisher team releasing most of the AJs Some ultra deep spots over 200m...sounds very interesting Wonder if 650g Sanmes will work on the BB Tong Gas ??? My Mood: Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() | Re: Burma Banks (Kingfisher team & Polaris Gold) Hi Edy, The Kingfisher video says the BB "Kertang"/"Tong Gas" is the Epinephelus malabaricus but i'm not sure if this is accurate. There is a lot of confusion in indentifying E. malabaricus, E. tauvina and E. coioides properly. E. malabaricus & E. coioides are the species that are most abundant in Singapore. The bigger specimens that Makaria and friends have landed at the wrecks are probably E. malabaricus. My kaki has booked Polaris Gold in early december 2007...very tempted to go but it would depend on my schedule tight lines Last edited by MarkR : 15-03-2007 at 03:52 PM. |
