BSL trip... first encounter of Mekong cat Fish..
To those who have missed the trip with us...

It feels good to fish in BSL.. and surprisingly on how the MK cat fish fight.

The biggest is 26kg. 6 lines bursted. Type of fishes are MK Cat fish, Pacu and Patin.

Yes we did hire a guide named boy... and he arrange everything including transport pick up from hotel and importantly fishing!!

To the far left.. that is boy, our guide.
Nice guy and he speak english and experience in BSL fishing.

The 26kg is caught by Chan and i taking over from him to fight for the last 5 mins. He is flat.. tortured by the fish... :P :P
But smart fish, keep going underneath the shetter and try to cut the line which make us suffer to fight it out.

The rest of us all landed 23-25kg fishes...

Enjoyable trip after all and manage to found out that the Sea Bass pond is an hour away from BSL. The size is in range of 3-4 kg.
We are planning to go there next trip to try....
Also some other fishes in BSL which we never land.

Next time must go! Good food, good fishes and good massage.

Hi Octopus,

Probably around 10 to 15 mins to land one.
It all depends on what size and aggressiveness of the fish.

You should go and try one.
It is helluva fight.

Vincent dont bluff lah, you already encountered with the 1.4 Seriola Hippo so what's the 20odd kg Mekong to compare. hahahahaa

What is your next target fish?
BTW, Gong xi fa cai...

1.4m huh... that is the past already...
Now old liao... back pain.. can not lift so heavy fishes. :P

Things going quite well, but have no chance to hit the biggies. My next sambo hopefully something bigger.
You are slightly half more my age and you say old, then I have to sell all my heavy stuffs liao.
Hey, want to chiong Rottonest again this Nov/Dec this year? before I really get old and cant hold on to the rod with 13kg drag.
