Broken washer on Saltiga 6500 Exp

    Hi All

I wonder if anyone can help me on this one, yesterday, I cleaned all the washers on my Exp 6500 and unfortunately (and stupidly) one of the carbon washers broke on one side. It is essentially still intact, just cracked on one side.
Now, I am fishing tomorrow and live in Seychelles with no way of getting another washer for a couple of weeks. We will be fighting big doggies and amberjack as they are plentiful here. We are doing some tests on different jigs effectiveness.
My question is: Under these circumstances, which is the best position to put the damaged washer, top, middle or bottom, i have assumed the best would be in the middle but I have no idea!

    I would appreciate any comments/suggestions.

    Many thanks

We didn't go fishing today, the weather turned. Have planned it for Tuesday so if anyone has any suggestions; I would really appreciate it.

    Johnathan,

Boy I hate pure carbon washers. The best place I reckon is in the middle of the stack. In most cases a washer with a crack on one side should survive just fine as there are very few lateral forces being exerted on it.

As always, I advise you to switch to carbon fibre washers for which Carbontex works very well in my 6500EXP. No more issues with broken washers and Carbontex does not stick ever... Smooth drags up to 45lbs (as far as I dared to measure).

Iim also dropping you a PM....

    Regards,

    Saimee
