Tenggol trip 2 april 2006 Catch Report

Gents,
my second trip this month to this place and it got better.
ETA'ed Tenggol Saturday and ETA'ed back home lat nite.

Botman started to sail, 1/2hr into our journey comes the first spot - all 8 anglers dropped line - after 15min 1st guy pulled up a good size bulat..every one goes WHAT BULAT!!!!
I decided to put on my gimble - just finished hooking up my gimble as i wanted to sit down - biasalah..saaaaapp!!!up came 1 more bulat with 3 other kakis entagled line - 2-3kg bulat.
5 min later - 1 pari came up - 5-7 kg I would think.

Boat man asked us to reel in, and we set off to another spot looking for kerapu - not much happening, around 4pm we head to the spot everyone been waiting for--shipwreck.

Waited till 8pm and Rosman's reel screamed...he was struggling to locate the gimble rest, burst half way up the water..all on board got ready with gimble then..5 mins later, up came 1st 5kg cobia, then another cobia about 7kg, then another...and on till 6 of them came up.

I lost 3 hook ups - all biggies that made me cannot even pull my rod up...another kaki, also lost his hook up - burst line 40lb braided I was told..CZ brought up a shovel nose with his electric reel about 8-9kg

we changed spot around 10pm sarted looking for the tambaks..one after another came up,
nothing much all night long , morning we went to ebek spot,,and we created history on his boat for the first time not being able to bring up a single ebek..he he he...maybe next week.

we head off to shore ard 11am...attached pictures that I manage to take from my mobile..lots more taken..and am waiting from kakis.

overall trip catches rated to 4/10, but the kakis and the trip was well organised 8/10 hats off to Cikgu Zahari for a well organised trip.

Alo kayi...dont mind i tompang your thread and post a brief Catch Report...
I went to Tanjung Pinang to fish at Elly's yesterday with my adopted brother,his working friends and also Karim Rockers.There was a total of 9 of us.3 of them were women.

we met up at tanah merah FT and proceeded to Elly's kelong.We had lunch at Elly's (fresh seafood) which we enjoyed very much.Proceeded to fish at about 1500hrs.

It was a first time i had fished with ladies on board and i got to say i felt akward a little.Hee hee but after a few hours of fishing ,out of d 9 of us ,only my adopted brother,Karim rockers and my self(3 of us were the only ones fishing...with the help of the boatman and crew of course)

anyways....the catch wasn't that great but i am nevertheless grateful for whatever catches..

Karim was d champion with his new calstar rod.My adopted brother did very well too.I too caught fishes but not as best as theirs lah but enough to help fill d cooler box.
gangsta fish (barracuda) was also always present.we even had a duri frenzy until we decided enough was enough and procceeded to a new spot.

when d rest woke up,they were suprised to see that there were fishes in d cooler box.the 3 ladies were up too and the kekokness crept in once again...no more fishes brought up after that.

proceeded back to d kelong and showered up.The rest who didnt caught anything or caught 1 or two...didnt want any fishes(maybe they feel paiseh lah) but we made sure they each got some fishes to bring home.Their sincere smiles told us everything.had lunch at Elly's and proceeded home.
attached are some of the fishes caught...nothing fancy but we're grateful.
Oh ya...my red scorpion was real busy on this trip. thanks for reading.
