Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Expedition Trip To Pulau Tenggol - 12 - 15 Aug Anglers: 1. Bro RK 2. Sha Boleh 3. Ismail Boxer 4. Hj Suratman 5. Karim Todak 6. Suresh Nemo 7. Veera Amak Day-1 Friday-12 Aug: Depart from CCK ard 8.30 pm and had a smooth journey to larkin via 2nd link.Reach terminal 9.45 pm, solat and had coffee. I went to ticket counter n was told look for bus 2388. 10.15 went to platform n look for bus 2388...not around..only 7088 was there..something fishy...ask a guy who look like driver..is this bus going to KTN.. get in,this one.. was his reply..I said the plate no was different..he just said..if I said this one means this one..aahh..apa ni..anyway load all baggage in and at 10.45pm we're on our way to KTN. As usual, jokes aplenty especially from Boxer...ulat bulu dah naik daun.. Day-2 Sat 13 Aug: Reached KTN ard 4.15 am and called up Nemo. Less than 15 mins both he and Veera arived and drive us to his Co bungalow, washed up, solat & off we go to Dunggun. Weather was nice and we stopped at Paka for roti canai as most shop not opened yet in Kemaman. Continued travelling to Dunggun, arrived ard 8.15 am, met boatman. Followed boatman to market to get fresh baits of 10 kg sotongs and 8 kg selayangs for our expected 3d - 2n fiesta. That done, we drove to jetty and load all barangs to the boat and in no time began our long awaited journey to Tenggol. Veera showed us the baby crabs that he & Suresh caught last night at the expense of his handphone! Boat ride was ok but was a little hazy & couldn't see the island. Reached the location ard noon & wasted no time to down all lines. I tried with sinker 12...told the others cannot..use something heavier. We used whole squid for our baits and all the time its gone without any grab...can feel some nibbling..tekong said its the work of barat barat..(ayam fish). Stayed on this spot for an hour and winds/waves started to pick up so tekong decided to move closer to island. Around the island, we moved a few times but still no good bites to show let alone any fish. Moved further inwards behind island to join another boat there taking shelter too. Meanwhile, lunch was prepared and we relaxed & had our long overdue lunch at ard 3 pm. Moved to a few more spots ard island but still no results to show. Anyway, the plan was to move out again to the actual wreck spot later close to midnight after checking the tide table. Close to evening finally Suresh got the 1st fish.. a baby Cuda! this was followed by few more Selinchings. Baits used were squids, fish fillet & baby crabs..but still no ketaraps or groupies...maybe in the mornings? Winds were still strong & getting colder,...had late dinner ard 9pm and waited for the signal to move out. I rested in the bunk and heard tekong started engine and moved...after an hour or so I went behind and noticed the familiar sight of the island...what? I was told that boat did moved out to the wreck spot but half way the conditions were bad so they decided to turn back and take shelter and fish at the Vietnam wreck close to the island. Line down & Suresh hooked up to something huge but i dun see the usual resistance from downunder...less than 5 mins, up came a piece of the wreckage..ha ha..then it was Sha's turn to bring up another piece of the boat.. lots of snag here but there were some good bites but no hooked ups.Only Ismail brought up a 2.5 kg Yu bodoh and this no action naturally made most of our eyes heavy and decided to called the night early. As usual, Sha stayed with chef & had some light action with baby jacks using live ikan bilis as baits & he soon tired out and joined the rest in practising their vocal chords!! Day-3 Sun 14 Aug: Daybreak and we head to shore for our wash-up. As expected, Aziz the coordinator was not even there, only his son was around to meet us. Quick clean-up and while having some light breakfast, we had a team discussion on some difficult decisions to make if the weather & sea condition dun mellowed. We headed back to the boat where some nice nasi goreng awaited our return. I spoke to tekong on his plans for the day and was told that he's bringing us to a promising new spot, furthest away so far. An hour after, anchor down and I was 1st to down line, hmmmm..theres bite I told the rest but must get sinker down as current was still fast. 1st one to bring up was Veera with a combi of red grouper, kunyits & johnson of ard 500 - 800 gms. For the next hour or so, there were plenty of actions here and what a relief I told myself. A few more kerapu baras, some tambaks, > 10 kerapu minyaks were brought up along with kunyits and good size johnson. As currents raged even faster, the bites suddenly slowed down and faded away to zero. I told chef to prepare lunch earlier this time and told tekong of my plans, which was to pulled up his 3 bubus after lunch and head back to shore thereafter cos I dun see any point in our guys suffering another fruitless night on the boat enduring the pounding waves & cold winds. As for the bubus,..only a baby ray & some breams to show apart from some useless puffers. Looking at the bubus, not surprising not many fishes wanna come in there. So we headed back to shore leaving Tenggol with lots of unforgetful events to forget. After the customary fish distributing session, we had a good chat with tekong and gave him some useful feedbacks on how to improve his charter. I for one will never blame the tekong for not trying cos I can see he did try very hard... its only that there were some miscommunications on the part of the middle man that screwed up some of the plans. We stopped at Paka for dinner and headed to KTN and checked into a budget hotel at 10 pm close to the terminal. Later that night, Suresh, Karim & myself had a good session on the snooker table before we called it a night at ard 1 am. Day-4 Mon 15 Aug: Had breakfast ard 8.00am (Suresh supposed to join but he was totally crashed and cannot wake up till 12 noon only). We did some shopping ard Kuantan and both Suresh and Veera finally came to meet us ard 1.15 pm. Must say that these 2 guys were really great, helped us a lot and most of all we enjoyed each others company. Just hoped that Veera can join us on one of our Tanjung Pinang trips. 2.10 pm, the Konsortium coach moved out and we began our 6 hr ride back to Larkin. No pics taken on the boat suprisingly, maybe too rocky so nobody bothered. Anyway, as usual I had some from my Digicam with some lighter moments of this Tenggol trip...hope you all dun get too sleepy reading my report... Rgds Bro RK

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Bro Karim, Have to agree , what a beatiful Island it is...being first time for me to the Island find it fantasic....with rocks meters away froom where we parked with water depth around 120 ft..... Italian, told the photo taker to increase the flash a bit...to capture my face, maybe batery was low..good luck on your P Tinggi trip... If some of the team members wondered how I manage to balance myself at the back of the boat standiing and fishing...ha ha..it is an "ilmu" i learned from a pakcik long time ago...if you can master the "balancing ilmu" you also will never vommit not matter how bad the weather and how long you are out there...for sepak members...the fee to learn will be 1 teh tarik and roti prata.... regards, nemo... |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Bro Nemo, You should pass some tip to Bro Veera, he really went all out next to you but surrender after about 30mins, as he said "not mabok but pening sikit aja" I am willing to pay for the fee but it is a Spore roti prata and not Kemaman one OK ? So , what is the secret ? By the way, from what you have said, I know you will sure return there for a return match with Pulau Tenggol. Do let us know earlier maybe some of our kaki may want to go there again.PS: Why dont you ask Bro Veera join in the forum so that we can still keep in touch. Cheers. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Bro ghani and Bor Karim, Ok no problem, I will teach you all the ilmu, but before that there is some one syarat must be fullfilled before starting the training..ha...did you see me sticking like a lizard no matter how the boat rocked... one of the syarat is that ...before starting the training you have to eat 101 ea live lizard with kopi O kurang manis...tongkat ali don't count....if you can do this then we can start the turun ilmu, if not no matter how we try tak jadi..explaining why..Veera cannot catch the ilmu... ha ha ha ha...just kidding bros...don't go and start eating the lizards from the wall k.... nothing to it ...easy to be done..will show you gents when we go out together...just some easy excercise to your legs will help..use to do yoga before..... anyway, Veera don't think he can join the forum, his computer skill is not so good, he is a hands on type worker, electromechanical technician who loves to get his hands dirty...but I will ask him..he don't have email address either but time for him to start I guess...will tell him... will keep all posted for the return trip that I am planning to make...hope to join cikgu this time..and find out the boatman/timing/current etc, as the place looks promising...yes if anyone interested most welcome... Bro RK, Think most important thing is Veera to fullfill THE SYARAT Italian, Tosai and 1 capati on top will tell you how I manage to get the most fishes everytime I go out....how? SEPAK TEAM is good fun...am enjoying the teams friendship....thanks bros... regards, Nemo |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Yup..kayi Nemo, I totally agree on the above.anyways kayi..you got to teach me quick, maybe I can use it for this coming trip to Pualau Tinggi. Regarding the excercise....hmmm not too sure about that as the last time I remembered you did some excercises before a football match...you broke your arm(or something like that) hee hee.I think your secret surely has something to do with ghee. but seriously..i think the main reason is just that you're a simple Indian guy who has a big heart and also anak kepada Marimuthu.Genuine.malaysia bolih |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Hi Guys, The ilmu we can discuss later, I just want to thank Bro Sani for lending us his tikus, which work very hard during the trip. This tikus also have made the boatman and crew wondering , how can this thing do the job ? There have not seen something like this in their life. Needless to say for our Technician Veera, he really study the design of the tikus. I think in his next trip, he will come up with his own improviced tikus. Thanks Bro Sani, too bad catch not good to give you for pengeras. Will you be at Bro RK house this Sat ? Let me know, maybe I can pass the tikus to you. Cheers. |
