    Hots Gipang

    Hey guys...

Noticed there is 2 types available.. the normal Gipang and the other, Gipang Tide Lez.

Apart from the length, is there any significant difference between the 2?

This ones to Stickbom, noticed u mentioned that Gipang 83H is easy casting.
I know that for a fact as I tested it but would the 79XH differ much for say 150g chuggers?

    Thanks...

If i have not mistaken the tide lez is marketed as Kei Hiramatsu models.

From Hots webpage you can see the difference in their specs. On the actual rods, in terms of finishings, they are styled exactly the same.

    Re: Hots Gipang

Aplogies for slight deviation from original topic but since we are on topic of Gipang.
Believe the max lure weight for GIPANG Tide Lez. GT77XH is 230g

Will appreciate any advise on the recommended lure weight range.

Also, anyone knows the weight of this rod?

    Many thanks

depending on what your casting poppers weights, when i still had the rod, or maybe it might still be laying ard, i used to cast poppers up to 120g or thereabt, its pretty good casting and can cast a mile say on 80-100g properly weighted cast plug, Gipang is using a different blank from that of a Tide lez.. even thou both are using carbon blanks but the glass content and its taper are at very much different point hence making the rod bending action totally differently, but having said that, Gipang Tide Lez is not quite my type of rod, not that i dun like the action, just that it looks too thin for my liking, anyway, go ask ah gu, he has got at least 2 of each types back at home..

this rod i have not had the chance of using it, simply because when i walk it AO, it just didnt quite appeal to me, the lure weight in this case refers to that of a jigging lure, or jigs which is the common name for metal lure used for this form of fishing

    I experienced 79 , 75 and 77.
77 is the one I prefer.
casts well and far. Craft bait gt3, Cono Cono 190 and Hammer Icup with no problem and no fear
Powerful and easy I think. No vibration. I really like it and feel in confidence with it !

for me, i would rather buy a heavy rod and a light one and have both setup ready during the trip, also, the mid range model i kinda cant remember, but i kinda remembered prior to getting the 83 and 75, i pull on all 3 of them, but eventually settle on the 83 for being able to cast relatively light poppers, and 75 for working on those big poppers..
