| Super Moderator | Re: new toy....slow jigging... Dude, I just tried the salty rubber on Sunday. On a drifting boat, all you need to do is keep the lure hovering over the bottom and fish will readily pounce on it! No need to move it at all Anyway, the Daiwa Bay Jigging (Seabass) assist hooks are pretty weak... all the fishes I caught were under a kilo and the hooks opened up! Guess I'm gonna reserve them for fishing with lines under 10lb test Last edited by stickbom! : 15-01-2007 at 09:49 PM. |

I'm toying with the idea of rigging my own madai jig with running sinkers and vinyl octopus skirts. If it works... it'll be much much cheaper! | |

| Super Moderator | Re: new toy....slow jigging... Nope, I seldom use wire for fishing, UNLESS I'm specifically targeting Macks. I'm use No. 7-10 FC when fishing with Madai jigs

| Super Moderator | Re: new toy....slow jigging... Buddy remember to change the hooks to stronger ones! Give you a tip... TTC is clearing off their Gosen pretied assist hooks at $2 a pack and I've been using them on my madai jigs for a while now. Great stuff! Be careful though, some of those bargain hooks are very thin gauge and/or the cords are too long. Get the ones with thick wire hooks and really short cords
