Re: Long Torsa Handle

I have jigged with Torsa before somehow i felt the reel is not balanced and pretty heavy for jigging ...

It could the one i was using was the bigger model (could not recall what was the model)

Re: Long Torsa Handle

Hi Edy,

I have a Torsa 20...has become my default med-heavy bottom reel...like it a lot

It's a tad heavy for jigging but I think will still be a blast if they introduce a power gear version with the long handle

Good drags, silky smooth and the AR feels rock solid

Re: Long Torsa Handle

Mark,

Thats looks to be a Tiagra handle knob......

I reckon the Torsa 20 is still not quite there yet as a jig reel in terms of balance and weight, but bottom bashing should be just about right.... Watch out for the right hand spool bearing, I changed one out for a friend a few weeks ago.

Regards,

Saimee

Don't panic dude,

Firstly, I got it wrong, it wasn't the spool bearing (DUH!!) it was the pinion gear bearing. I usually keep an eye out for the first thing to break on "new" reels and in the case of this Torsa 30, it was that bearing.

Upon disassembly, it looked like it was a bit susceptible to water intrusion, but hey, the same goes for other reels... Strangely enough some of the other bearings that I would have thought as being more vulnerable, were in fact just fine.

Just a heads up.

Regards,

Saimee
