Line cap for Ocea Jigger NR series

I'm wondering how did Shimano figure one can squeeze 500m of PE2 onto the NR1500P I can't even get 260m of Jig Man X4 PE3 onto the reel without overloading it! So... guys n gals... if you're going to buy a Jigger NR anytime soon... bear in mind its PE2 300m for NR1500 and PE3 300m for NR2000 if you wanna leave some allowance/space for uneven winding (without using thumb to guide line onto the reel)

Yo Buddy, stick to Fireline 14lb. I was using that on my Jigger before you bought it Fireline 14lb breaks at 30lb+ so you're pretty safe using it. Furthermore, its really thin and you can get away with smaller jigs!

Eeyore, glad I'm not the only guy having problem with line cap on the NRs

Hi guys,

was thinking getting a NR1500P for jigging (about 100g) in Malaysia and Maldives. Is the size too small to handle 100g in about 100ft of water?? i am new to jigging

100' is fine for the Jigger NR1500P because it picks up line pretty fast. In fact I don't see any problem with 150-200g jigs with the reel. Just match the correct rod to your reel and it should be fine. I was already jigging with 100-120g jigs with the tiny Jigger 1000 that I sold off recently so the NR would be more than enough for your needs.

Hi, thanks for your reply and that really convinced me that I will invest in the NR1500P as I am a small fella with small hands, not strong enough to handle big stuff. I will really happy to land a 20KG Dogtooth Tuna with the NR.
