Mark, if you find the OH stiff you can forget about the Imperial. The new Imperial series is no longer slow and high glass content like the Tuna Mania sticks. These new rods are a blend of high carbon + Titanium fiber. I tried my friend's Northern Mariana 134R and its stiff with a captial S! Fishfingers and Mark had a chance to yank on the rod once and all of us think this rod belongs to the fighting chair.

    Bro,

Not having felt the rod I can't comment too much but dun think the Imperial is as stiff as the Northern Mariana range, got the info from mkim. Of all his rods, matustani seems to be recommending the Imperial most.

    tight lines

Mark, go check the Sevenseas website. They are offering free reelseat replacement for their new ranges of rods because the new, stronger blanks are causing reelseat failure. Some of my closer friends have warned me about the stiffness of these newer S.S rods. Better have a feel of the actual rod before ordering. Not cheap you know :P

Sound like the rod was not tested thoroughly before being released into the market for such a " recall " for upgraded reel seat .

Fiddle with the Imperial, Hiramasa, Ultimate Z, etc . . . . . . Must ask Josh to take it out. More on the way in, lots of S.S jigs with new model and colours arriving soon and alot cheaper than other place.

i dun think quallity fuji reel seat will crack. i was thinkin that he had a batch that is defective. but then, they (the defective reel seat) should never have entered the market in the first place.

so, although i saw that "warning", i still dun fully understand what happened.
